Privacy policy
The short version: this website uses no cookies and no analytics, Zeus sends no telemetry, and we only process personal data when you write to us or try the hosted pre-alpha.

Summary
- This website sets no cookies, uses no analytics, no tracking pixels and no third-party scripts or fonts. Our hosting provider processes basic request data (such as IP addresses) to deliver the pages and keep them secure.
- The Zeus software runs on your computer and sends nothing to Verne: no telemetry, no crash reports, no account. Your history, settings and permissions stay on your device. The pre-alpha client app connects to our hosted pre-alpha server by default; Settings, Backend switches it to your own zeusd.
- The Zeus browser extension collects nothing and sends nothing to any server. Its details are in the extension privacy policy.
- The hosted pre-alpha, if you try it, keeps a private sandbox for 24 hours behind one random cookie: the sample downloads you start and the settings you change. No account, no analytics.
- If you email us, we use your address and message to reply, and nothing else.
Who is responsible
The controller for the processing described here is Verne Ltd., 8/A, Sher-e-Bangla Road, Zighatola, Dhaka-1209, Bangladesh. Contact: info@vernesystems.com, +880 1870 034384. Zeus is a product of Verne Ltd. ("Verne", "we", "us").
What this policy covers
This policy covers the website at https://zeus-site-bay.vercel.app, the Zeus software and browser extension, and messages you send us. It does not cover websites you download from, AI assistants or other tools you connect to Zeus, or third-party sites we link to; each has its own terms and policies.
This website
What is processed
When you load a page, your browser sends a request that includes your IP address, the page address, the time, your browser’s user agent and, sometimes, the address of the page that linked here. Our hosting provider, Vercel Inc., processes this request data to deliver the site and to protect it against abuse, and may keep it in server logs for a short period under its own retention rules (see its privacy policy). We do not use this data to identify you, and we do not combine it with other data.
What is not processed
No cookies, no local storage, no analytics or session recording, no advertising, no fingerprinting, no social-media embeds and no third-party scripts. Fonts and artwork are served from this site itself. Our cookie notice has the details.
Machine-readable files
We publish files such as llms.txt and sitemap.xml so search and answer engines can read the site. Fetching them is like loading any page.
The Zeus software
Zeus runs on your computer. It does not send data to Verne: there is no telemetry, no analytics, no crash reporting, no update ping to us and no account.
What Zeus keeps on your device
- A record of your downloads: addresses (with secret query parameters removed in logs and exports), file names, sizes, states and checksums.
- A crash-safe journal of which parts of each file are saved, so downloads can resume.
- A tamper-evident audit log of approvals, permission changes and every use of a website session.
- A provenance file next to your downloads recording where each file came from.
- Your settings and the permissions you granted or refused.
You can view, export and delete all of it. Uninstalling Zeus and removing its folder deletes it.
Website sessions
When you approve a website, the browser extension passes that site’s cookies to the Zeus app for your download. Zeus holds them in memory only, for at most 15 minutes, and wipes them. They are never written to disk, logged, shown to AI assistants or sent anywhere other than the website they belong to. Zeus never reads your browser’s cookie or password files.
Network connections
The Zeus client app of the 0.0.1a pre-alpha connects to our hosted pre-alpha server by default (see below). In Settings, Backend you can point it at your own zeusd instead, or use it offline on sample data; then it makes no connection to Verne.
zeusd connects only to the websites you, or an assistant acting for you, ask it to download from. If a future version offers optional AI features and you turn them on, Zeus will connect to the AI provider you choose, sending only what your privacy setting allows (file metadata by default), under that provider’s terms.
The hosted pre-alpha
The hosted pre-alpha at zeus.103.191.50.32.sslip.io (the default backend of the pre-alpha client) runs zeusd on a server we operate, so that you can try Zeus without installing it. On your first visit it creates a sandbox identified by a random value, stored in one cookie (or, in the desktop app, kept by the app). The sandbox holds the downloads you start (only sample files from sample hosts on that server; it never downloads from the internet), and the settings, lists and agent threads you change. It keeps no account, name or email. The server’s web proxy processes request data such as your IP address to deliver the pages and to limit abuse. The sandbox, its files and its settings are deleted 24 hours after it was created. Provider keys you type into Settings stay in your browser’s or app’s memory and are never sent to the server; the server also refuses to store anything that looks like one.
The browser extension
The extension collects no data and sends nothing to any server. When you approve a website, it reads that one site’s cookies only when the Zeus app on the same computer asks for them for your download, and passes them to the app through the browser’s native-messaging channel. They are never stored, logged or sent anywhere else. Full details: extension privacy policy.
AI assistants and other tools you connect
If you connect an AI assistant to Zeus (for example through the Model Context Protocol), Zeus returns information about your jobs to that assistant, such as file names, sizes, folders, status and checksums. Zeus redacts secrets such as tokens and signed-link parameters from what it returns and never returns cookies or credentials. What your assistant does with the information is governed by your assistant provider’s terms and privacy policy, not by us.
When you contact us
If you email us, we process your email address, name if given, and your message to reply. We do not add you to marketing lists without asking. We keep the correspondence for as long as needed to handle it and for up to 24 months after our last exchange, unless you ask us to delete it sooner or the law requires us to keep it. Our email service provider processes these messages on our behalf.
Legal bases
Where laws such as the EU or UK General Data Protection Regulation apply, we rely on: legitimate interests for delivering and securing the website and replying to messages; legitimate interests for running the hosted pre-alpha sandbox you open; and legal obligations where we must keep or disclose information.
Sharing and transfers
We do not sell or rent personal data and we do not share it for advertising. Our service providers (hosting and email) process data only on our instructions. Verne is based in Bangladesh and our providers may process data in the United States and other countries; where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses. We may disclose information if the law requires it or to protect our users, the public or Verne.
Security
The website is static, served over HTTPS with strict security headers and no third-party code. The Zeus software is designed so that secrets are never logged or written to disk, and approvals can only be given by a person. Read more in our security policy.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, write to info@vernesystems.com; we will reply within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority. Data that Zeus keeps on your own computer is under your control: you can view and delete it there.
Children
This website and Zeus are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page if our practices change, and change the "last updated" date above. If a change is significant, we will say so at the top of this page. Earlier versions are kept in the website’s source history.
