Trademark policy
Zeus is open source; its name and logo are not. This policy keeps the name meaningful, so people know what they are getting.

Our marks
Verne Ltd. uses the following as trademarks: the name Zeus as applied to download and data software and services, the Zeus logo, mark and wordmark, the coin-and-thunderbolt device, and the Verne name and V mark. The Apache-2.0 license (section 6) does not grant permission to use them.
You may, without asking
- Refer to Zeus by name to say what something is, works with or is based on, accurately (for example, “a plugin for Zeus” or “compatible with Zeus”).
- Use the unmodified logo from our press kit to link to Zeus or in articles, talks and tutorials about it.
- Use the name in discussions, reviews and comparisons, including critical ones.
Please ask first
- Using the name or logo on merchandise, in event names or in advertising.
- Distributing an unmodified official build under the Zeus name from your own channel.
You may not
- Use Zeus, or a confusingly similar name or logo, as the name of your product, service, company, domain or social account.
- Distribute a modified version (a fork) under the Zeus name or logo. Forks are welcome, with a different name and without our logos.
- Suggest that Verne sponsors, endorses or certifies your product when it does not.
- Alter, recolour, animate or combine the logo with other marks.
Artwork
The illustrations on this site (such as the coin, keraunos and meander border) are © Verne Ltd. You may use them when writing about Zeus. Please do not use them to brand other products. The museum photographs are not ours: see the art credits for their sources and licences.
A note on the name
Zeus is a common name. Our claim covers its use for software and services in the field of downloading, file handling and AI-agent tooling, not the name in general.
